I love this dress and am desperate to know if you used a pattern or was this drafted by you?

Amanda, I drafted a very simple pattern...I'll try my best to explain.

The bodice started as a "bodicey shape" that I adjust to get the neckline that I wanted. I put in two rather huge darts to make it fit better. The sleeves are pointy ovals adjusted to fit the circumference of the armscye -- think a classic "eye" shape.

The skirt was a circle skirt that went to my ankles, that I then trimmed down in front to get the shape I wanted. I wouldn't recommend this method, though, as it was a lot of trying it on in front of the mirror and then stripping it off to mark and cut and repeating til I was sick of it! If you look at my blog post about the dress, I link to the original inspiration for this dress and there's a better method on her blog.

Hope that helps! Email me if that doesn't make sense.
