I used a vintage pattern (1961 McCall's 5781, 14T) to make this sheath dress. My husband said that it looked like I was trying to be on Pan-Am, so to spite him I made a little pillbox hat to go with it.
I enjoyed your blog, particularly your interpretation of what 'pin-up' means. - true, I know what your husband means, but you still look darn cute.
Cute dress and really cute with your pan am flight hat..[Husbands,what would we do without them??lol]
Great dress and the hat is cute too.
I love it too, and I would wear it all the time (except without the hat if I were going to work ;)
Indeed, where would we be without husbands to offer interesting opinions on our sewing? ;)
Thanks for your kind comments everyone! I'm still going to wear this out, albeit without the hat, which is really what sends it over the edge into costume territory.
