The Sew Weekly Sewing Circle

Here is my blouse, dating to the year 1936. Believe it or not it is a pullover, thanks to the bias cut of the back and the front bottom panel. It is a "frankenpattern" mix of Simplicity #2614 for the main body, my old 1937 McCall #9170 for the sleeves and wrap around tie/belt, and an EvaDress pattern #7482 for the inspiration to put this look together. I used a peach skin type of silky print as the fabric with cream cling-free lining underneath. There are vintage buttons down the bodice front and also on the sleeves. The insides of this blouse are impeccable - all French seams except for the seam tape covered hems- and I did hand stitching to top-stitch around the neckline and tack down the facings. Simplicity #2614 is a wonderful pattern...has great details, great fit, and so quick to sew! See and read more at my blog
