It needs a belt, I'm working on a "no sew" idea that I hope works!

Wanett I love this shirt, it's a total winner. I went on your blog to read the background, I'm so impressed at how you worked out the pattern! I love the button details on the back, they really make the shirt all that more! Really well done!

Oh, I like how you altered the neckline, I agree, it's too high if done as intended, for me anyways. Are the pleats at your collarbone how you adjusted it? It's really attractive!

This is so cute on you!  I haven't seen many versions with the neckline seams and have always wondered about that.  I did the version without and it was too high on my neck too- your fix is very flattering, mine turned into kind of a weird u-neck.

Thanks everyone! About the neckline. I frequently cut the neckline of my tops like this because I hate crew necks, so I knew from experience how much was a good idea to cut. I should have given more detail about how I did it this time.

I pinned the neck pleats in the paper pattern piece and marked where I thought the neckline should be in pencil. I took out the pins and cut the front and back pieces and completed the entire project up to adding the facings. I folded the top in half, matching sleeve and hems to make sure it was all even and lined up properly. Then I layered the front piece on top as a cutting guide, I cut through all of the layers at once starting at the shoulder and ending at app the point I marked on the pattern. Then I laid the cut blouse on top of the facings and cut away the extra. I'm sure this would have been more precise if I drafted new pattern pieces, but the waste was minimal and I like the finished product ;o)
