The Sew Weekly Sewing Circle

It is one of my sewing goals to make well fitting comfortable pants that look good.I am not there yet,but I do feel I am one step closer. These blue pants look like they fit OK, but they do strange things when I walk, I used McCalls 3740, which is a "Fit as you Sew" method, next time I will try Sandra Betzina fitting techniques. I slimmed these down a lot in the legs and added the hem placket and bow. The fabric was gifted (I'll consider these a muslin.) The blouse is Butterick 5608 and the fabric was purchased for $1 at a church fete

Hi Michelle, I really like your 60's ensemble.  It looks so cool and comfortable for the heat but so dressy! I looked up the top pattern you used and I'm tempted to buy it because you make it look so good when the cover drawing is blah.  Your pants might not feel right but they don't show it.  I know what you mean.  My husband can't understand it sometimes-he says something looks fine when I say it doesn't fit quite right.
