I love using home fabrics for 50's style dresses, so I thought I'd play this week. The fabric came from a breezy cotton duvet cover from Ikea, the pattern is self-drafted. I built a bra into the bodice so I don't have to wear one. I tried out some uneven-hem-layering; I'm not sure if I'll keep it.
There's more pictures of this dress and a tutorial on making a sew-in bra at my blog, 3 Hours Past the Edge of the World.

Very nice and cool dress - perfect for the Australian summer - your bra tute is really useful. The cross-over straps look a lot nicer too.
Lovely! Your dress looks so relaxed and comfy!
