Vintage Pattern Lending Library

Hey ladies. 

I know, in the past, Mena's used some patterns from the Vintage Pattern Lending Library. My boyfriend's mother got me a membership for Christmas and I have yet to take advantage of it. Does anyone have any experience or insight with/on VPLL that they'd like to share?

I can be any help because I have never heard of this but it looks really great. How does it work? Can Canadians join?
