I really like this item that is not available from Shabby Apple anymore (not that I could afford it with their international postage...). Anyway, I haven't come across a pattern that looks like this, so I thought maybe some of you would have suggestions?
Any help is greatly appreciated :)
Oooo, I want it too! I can't think of any patterns that match it exactly, but you could probably recreate it with a little pattern drafting. This Vogue pattern may work: http://voguepatterns.mccall.com/v1233-products-13651.php?page_id=854
You could extend the one side and move the buttons to the left side, lose the collar shown and make your own simple standing collar. Looks like you may want to make the neckline more of a boat-neck shape, too.
I hope that helps!
There is a similar neckline & skirt on a Vogue pattern here that you could extend to have a button front, and lengthen to 3/4 length sleeves:
Gertie's New Book for Better Sewing has a coat dress that is very similar, but with a different collar - photo here:
Perhaps you could get both, and combine to get what you want
Thanks, both of you :) I think I will be able to do it with a little combination. I've been trying to find an excuse to buy Gertie's book anyway... I'm not very good at spotting similar patterns. Now when you mention, I can see the similarities, but I could've looked at these and not seeing it by myself... So, thanks again! Now I need to do some shopping... :)
I think I voted for http://voguepatterns.mccall.com/v8811-products-22893.php?page_id=857 with a shortened skirt and longer sleeves.
Or maybe even http://voguepatterns.mccall.com/v8828-products-27103.php?page_id=857 w/o the placket and buttons added.
Good luck, I'd love to see what you come up with. :-)
Butterick 5172 may work for you if you made the skirt fuller and add more buttons down the side. There are several copies on Etsy and Ebay.
