The Sew Weekly Sewing Circle

Some of us have started saying we'd like a UK meet up.... sooooo, who is interested? And where do you live? And are you willing to travel???????

I have just looked at the rail map of the uk, we could meet centrally somewhere, sometime this summer? We seem to have people from Edinburgh to Devon....

I'll start, I live in Lincolnshire, I can travel within reason (!), but I need some time to organise babysitting ;0) I would LOVE to meet some of the people I have met online and chat about sewing...

Who's in?

cool I'l give you my phone no. too. How about I meet you at the V&A directly. Also I hope you don't mind but I have invited my Mum. She is amazing at sewing and she has seen sew weekly, she might even give the challenge ago, She only lives a 40 min train ride from London and I don't get to see har as much as I would like, so I could'nt go all th way to London and not see here! You will all love her.
That will be fabulous! I can't wait to meet her!
great to have your Mum on board!

This is sooo exciting!   Yes...I'll find out the theme....should we make a suggestion?  maybe a color theme--I think that would be the most striking for a group photo!

I'll be coming down the day before so I can meet at anytime, anywhere ;-)  Also everyone send me a private message and we can exchange phone numbers! (can you send a group private email?  I'm not quite sure how that works!!)

I definitely want to do a pattern swap!!!

Yes a colour theme works really well for all abilities.

Can not tell you how excited I am!!!

a knittted woolly scarf counts??? hope the weather isnt too bad otherwise I will take my dress on a hanger !!!

I think we need more than on week to make something special... maybe a similar pattern??

I dont have any pattern to swap but can have look a round my local shops as they always have something unique. I just bought a vintage man coat - YSL that i hope to make for myself soon...

if anyone wants to donate / or sell  Im a size 12 pattern ...

we can meet at the V&A - should we say 12?

I agree with you Debi and the other Charlotte, if we could have a colour theme it would look in photos and also all abilities can manage it, fingers crossed Mena will go for the idea ... I think that would be super cool but I also need time to get fabric and make something - I don't have a huge stash ;0) up to now it has worked out ok.....

OK will send a message when I have looked up my mobile number ;o)

V exciting....

I'm in for a pattern swap, I have been given some lovely patterns that I will never use because they are too small and I would like to see them go to people who would like them - even better if I can find a bigger pattern in exchange! Do you mind me asking what size people who want to swap are? Then I can bring something suitable.... or do you want to just chance it?

By the way how about we all meet at the V and A? Is there a cafe there? Would that be easier?

Just back from Stitch and Craft at Olympia and very tired!  Will answer things properly from my end tomorrow.

I've got a quite a few patterns in a variety of sizes to bring with me, so I'm happy just to chance it.

There is a lovely cafe in the V & A, with lots of yummy cakes and teas and things. It's small so it would be an easy place for everyone to meet and spot each other. I'm coming from South London, so any where we meet is good for me!

Fab! I've got some patterns to bring as well!  I think meeting at the V&A would be splendid...what time works for everyone?

For me mid morning until late afternoon works ok, 10:30 or 11 until, say 4 or 5? If pepole are travelling we need to make it worthwhile, we will need time to go to the V and A, have lunch, travel about, go shopping and have coffee I expect .... what time suits the furthest away travellers ? xx

If we're meeting around 11:30ish then I might actually be able to take the train down from Edinburgh that day (which might work better for me)...The first train from EDI arrives in Kings Cross at 10:59am.  Then I can just hop on the underground and head over to the V&A--I'm sure it won't take more than 30 minutes to get there?  Super fun!  Then there is a 6pm train back....

OH! I also talked to Mena and she said doing a color theme would be great....It would be posted the week of May 23-27 (but we'll obviously have done it earlier for our meet up!!)  She says it's up to us what color?  What do you all think?  Blue? Yellow? Purple? pink? brown? white? another red?
