wow, you are one traveling lady come september!

i'll be there for a workshop of a musical. i plan to lie in the alcoholic pole of behavior when i'm not at work! BC wines?  yes, please!

we're staying in the banff centre-- but we want to see everything we can in our downtime.  do you think we need a car to get to sites like sulphur mountain and lake louise? i'll take all the advice you care to give!!!!

The distances around town are not huge, but you don't want to be walking up and down those mountain roads after a late night.  I used to see coyotes on my walk home from my night job...  There are cabs around town for short trips, and since it's the end of the tourist season, there should be a lot available.

To get to Lake Louise, you'd have to take the public bus or rent a car.  I'd rent, because there are lots of great sites so near (LLouise, Icefields Parkway, just driving along the highway and looking at the mountains and lakes and stopping wherever you like).

I haven't tried a lot of the BC wines because out here in La Belle Province, the shops are pretty heavy on the French wines (mais oui), but Burrowing Owl and Jackson-Triggs always win awards.  If you are a beer lover, there is a pale wheat ale that I've never seen outside of Alberta called Grasshopper, and that's worth seeking out.

The Banff centre is great - I used to go there for the films and exhibits; there is probably something going on when you're there www.banffcentre.ca

Have fun!
