The Sew Weekly Sewing Circle

I saw a link to this '70s era dress on the blog A Beautiful Mess and looooove it.  Of course it sold on Etsy right away.  It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to sew, but a pattern would be very helpful!  I'd probably want to sew it in cotton knit instead of polyester, so an exact fabric match isn't necessary there.  Any suggestions?

Thanks!

It's really pretty…not sure about fabric. I agree with jersey maybe it's a blend so it's nice and silky.

I love that! I bet its probably fairly easy to get a pattern like that.

There is a Cynthia Rowley one 2178 That has the ties and wouldn't need much drafting. I'd just swap the tie piece and use it twice and sew them together into the waistband. I'll keep an eye out for a better option though!

Thanks, that's a really pretty pattern - I like View D, too...

Eliminate the ruffle and you've got it in this pattern: http://butterick.mccall.com/b5320-products-3161.php?page_id=1185 and on sale too!

Though this pattern is for an actual wrap dress and lined...... so you might want to look for something else.

This might be a better choice with modded shoulders... http://butterick.mccall.com/b5206-products-7474.php?page_id=1185 - it's a mock wrap dress.
Ooooo yes, that one looks great.  Thank you!
