Has anybody made anything in a banana fabric yet?

I just found this article on the Guardian website and thought I'd share it with you. What do you think of the fruit prints that are supposed to be all the rage this year?

I want it!!!  But then, I have a thing for quirky prints.  Especially quirky prints made up into 1950's full-skirted dresses.  :-)
a la Josephine Baker but with a little less exposure. Cute!
So... Prada goes for bananas! Haha! Didn't know that! :) Well as far as I'm concerned, nope! Never used banana fabric but it's fun! But I guess I'm more a strawberry kinda girl! Haha! Thanks for sharing!
No, but i love this fruit crazy fashion !
I just saw a bunch of fruit prints last time I was fabric shopping. The only fruit I've ever sewn with it cherries, but I could see some possibilities with the right print and pattern for some fruit pieces.
I love the new fruit fabrics..I actually bought some oranges .and am intending making  something??? Look forward to seeing what others come up with..Happy Sewing
Oh I love it and if Anna Wintour is wearing it and Prada served it up. I would say it's very in. The banana pattern is gorgeous and very sophisticated. I like how they are set off by a field of black!

Judy what do think about it?

It's funny that there is a suggestion that the bananas were vulgar, I just didn't go there. I love the look, I think it's taking something we all know and styling it up!
I've seen a gorgeous 'lemon' dress but it was £50 and I can't pay that kind of money anymore - all the time I just keep thinking how I could make it for so much less ...
oooh love lemons.. thats  a good idea... Have you got some lemon fabric?? I found some oranges on a sale table..Not  much yardage, but enough for a simple blouse..   wouldnt a fruit  challenge be good.ha.
I've seen lemon fabric on a website called My fabrics co Uk
You certainly could make it for less - at least in the U.K. you could. I found another fabric shop in Xanthi today and do you know what she was charging for a rather think cotton fabric ? 22 Euros a metre! She wasn't very friendly, either and wouldn't let me go anywhere near the fabric let alone touch it!
