The Sew Weekly Sewing Circle

Some of us have started saying we'd like a UK meet up.... sooooo, who is interested? And where do you live? And are you willing to travel???????

I have just looked at the rail map of the uk, we could meet centrally somewhere, sometime this summer? We seem to have people from Edinburgh to Devon....

I'll start, I live in Lincolnshire, I can travel within reason (!), but I need some time to organise babysitting ;0) I would LOVE to meet some of the people I have met online and chat about sewing...

Who's in?

Hello Karen, Debi mentioned it a couple of days ago I think, our plans haven't changed.... Rosemary made some really good suggestions which I hope we can use at a future event but unless anyone would like to change we are:

Meeting at the V and A at 11:30 dressed in a homemade outfit based on our chosen British theme of red, white and blue

Taking photos for TSW for Debi before we spill coffee on ourselves (OK, before I spill coffee on myself)

Visiting the Japanese designer exhibition (as far as I know still on, I'll phone next week and check)

Lunch, pattern and fabric swap

Goldhawk Road fabric shopping raid

Home laden with goodies early evening

Or more or less..... would your trip coincide with ours???? Great idea.

this is my perfect day ever!!

I cannot wait... how is your progress into making the outfit.

I have to confess Im stuck as I have a lot of things going on that doesnt allow me to finish it...

I haven't started yet, although I do have fabric and patterns.

Hi guys! Check out this fab-u-lous fabric I got for the UK themed week and our meet up! I absolutely love it!  I'm thinking of making a 1940's dress from it  (I'll skip the Horrockses pattern this time because this fabric was too perfect to pass up!)

From far away it just looks like little red designs! hehehehe

Oh ..how perfect for the meet up. Cant wait to see it, in a dress.
this is so cool! what pattern are you thinking of? or is it a suprise
I love it !
I actually think I'm going to use this as a lining to a dress...still deciding on the pattern...but a lining that 'peeks' out in some places!  Definitely a 40's pattern.

Hi there gang

It looks as though you have well-organised (and amazing!) plans for your meet-up. I'm very impressed that you're making outfits especially and love the Union Jack fabric. What a find! I wouldn't like my event to 'gatecrash' yours, so perhaps there's a way of trying to combine meet-ups at Goldhawk Road. I have several people interested through my blog and can suggest a time to meet up at Goldhawk Road that would dovetail in with your plans? What do you think?

Hope everyone has had a good and happy start to the week.

Karen

I think it sounds great (ps like your blog too)
