The Sew Weekly Sewing Circle

From the discussion over here, I can tell you ladies love talking about ugly patterns! Since it's so much fun, let's make it a contest: In this thread, post an image of the ugliest pattern envelope you can find. I'll pick the winner based on my completely objective tastes. The winner will receive a definitely non-ugly pattern from my stash (I'll hopefully have the right size for you).

Get going and let's see some heinous patterns!

Sure did!

So funny... I have a picture of my hubby and me a few weeks before we got married..I had on  a pair of "go go shorts".. For you younger folks..back in my time.. this was a pair of short shorts with a tunic type dress that  came to the hem line. It looked like you had nothing under this short, short dress. Believe it or not..I weighed about 110 pounds then..and was tall and skinny.. It  looks AWFUL. those long skinny  legs oooooh...HAHAHA..

NO...no...no... MY FRIENdS...I am not going to post that awful picture.hahaha

forgot to tell you.. my hubby [then boyfriend] had on red/white and blue stripe pants.

ooooooooooooooh awful.... Our kids still make fun of us till this day.. But  we thought we were 'SHARP" back then.

me too... we must see it !
I second the nomination for you to post it! I have one of me with short shorts on. Tall and lanky, I thought I was sharp, too!
Girls. you dont know what you are asking for..I will try to post soon...so you can all get tons of laughs..hahahha
Wow these are horrible! I agree that blue one with the white bib and the embroidered bow and the ruffles...really, REALLY??? How could anyone think this is a good idea, even in the 80's...second to that one is the one with the bow tie. And look the package labels them as "essentials"!
'Essentials"  wow...I sure would hate to know it was essential for me to have to wear them.hahahaha
I KNOW I made a dress out of this pattern! I altered the pattern a bit....Now don't laugh, but I ADDED fullness to the top of the sleeve, made them 3/4 length, AND added a peplum to the skirt. What was I thinking, you ask??? It was the eighties!! I say no more!!
So I was just in the "Salvos' Op Shop now and I nearly purchased a pattern merely because it was so ugly and deserved its place on this forum. Luckily it wasn't in my size, but it was tempting. Think long, large plaid with puffy sleeves.
This could go on forever couldn't it?! There must be loads of undiscovered gems out there ...
Patience is a virtue ... give it time ...

Something to be said about the 80's possibly the worst decade of fashion!!
