Hi Andrea,

I joined sew weekly last year..and did the challenges..I am just watching this year.ha

I too, am a  mom of  2 grown up kids. and 5 grandchildren..

I  have sewed for 35 yrs.. I taught myself so I don't know alot of the correct ways to do

things. But, I have learned so much with  Sew weekly.. and have met some fantastic friends.

I wish you the best, and hope you  enjoy.

I too started my blog ,when finding sew weekly.. I had never had one [and I am totally

computer dumb,ha].. But it was rather easy to start. If you will go to www.blogspot.com  , it is

a free blog sight.. And the directions are fairly easy to follow..It was kinda time consumming, how

ever ,that is probably because I don't know much about it.lol If I can help you, please feel free to

ask me..

Enjoy your sewing and sew weekly. Happy sewing, Judy

Thanks Judy, for the blog spot website I went there and started a blog i don't know how well it will be lol but i just wanted someplace where i can post what i am doing in the sewing world and have a place to post finished projects etc. it was a little confusing at first but i think i got the hang of it now we will see.

Hi Andrea,

you  are very welcome.. Wow..you did that fast. I think it took me a couple weeks to figure out ,how to get mine semi going.lol.. I started mine, when I  joined SW last year. SO, I could keep up with what I made..

Even though I have sewed for years.. I discovered that I has sewed for my daughter and then my grandaughters. And never really sewed for me..It is different sewing adult clothes .ha.  I have learned so many new techniques from the sw girls. Such fun..

Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.. Happy sewing.

I will come check your blog out..

Hi Judy, No it didn't take me long lol I am a computer nut and have worked with  different type web pages before so it wasn't to hard.   come by anytime there isn't much on there yet lol but I am hoping for it to build up

Hello all, My name is Ay Somefun , I am Nigerian. I discovered your site last week. I am a full time HR consultant

I am  very much interested in learning how to sew; I have attended a sewing class before, but it seemed i did not really pick up anything. I want to be able to make my own clothes; especially picking the right fabric that suits my style and taste. I hope I get all the help I need here

Welcome from a fellow member! There is lots of knowledge and beautiful things around here, and plenty of great links to learn lots!

Hi there

My name is Liz and I live in Brisbane, Australia.

I have been sewing for many years now but my motivation has come and gone over the years as life got in the way.  I am now making sure I take the time out to relax and spend some "me time".  I have been super inspired by Project Runway and love anything by Kenley.

I have always held a fascination with 40s and 50s style clothing and now that I don't work in a corporate office I can indulge in wearing whatever I like each day!

I have started using up my stash and have a new blog too http://busylizzieinbrizzy.blogspot.com.au/

I look forward to participating in the challenges too.  See you all soon!

Welcome to sew weekly..  Hope you have lots of fun. Look forward to seeing all the things you make. Happy sewing.

Hi! My name is Stacy Burnett. I am a homeschooling mother of 5. My kids are 18, 16, 15, 8 and 5. 3 boys and 2 girls. I just started my sewing journey at the end of March 2012 when I FINALLLLLLY received a sewing machine for my Bday. I took off at a run and haven't stopped. I am having a blast!! I just wish all the kids would let me sew for them. LOL So far just my youngest 2 have appreciated it. ;)

Welcome Stacy, I wish you lots of fun and  excitement in your new found love of sewing, and I know how you feel lol I been sewing for 4+ yrs now and still yet to have my  kids let me sew of them lol the closes es i got is sewing for my 2 yr old granddaughter lol she don't complain lol . wishing you lots of luck and welcome

LOL!! Thank you, Andrea!!!

My teenage daughter has decided that she will let me make her a purse.... LOL We'll see how long that lasts!! LOL

Hi Sewers!  My name is Shelley, and I live in SoCal.  I've sewed nearly forever (my Mom kept doll outfits I designed and sewed by hand before I was old enough to go to school).  Through high school and college and for a decade after, I sewed a substantial portion of my casual and work clothes.  Sewing over the past few years has been very unfocused--mostly repairs, alterations, and necessities (curtains, blinds, dog beds, etc).  Pretty boring stuff--I let life take over.  I want to sew for the joy of sewing again - for the joy of creation with all its pin pricks and frustrations.

I glad to join this community.  I'm hoping the external deadline of the challenges will help focus the small amount of time I have to sew in a more productive way.  Even if I don't sew every challenge, I will sew more than I've sewn for years!  Seems a worthwhile endeavor.  OK, now I'm off to finish up my dress for our anniversary dinner tonight (in the enormous 1 hour 50 minutes I have to sew).  Time...time....time!
