The Sew Weekly Sewing Circle

Sorry for the delay on the update, only I wasn't well with cold.  On holiday now and able to firm up a few details.

It looks like May is the favourite month.  Does everyone agree?  So far, we have me, Charlotte, Rachel, Frances and Debby.

We would either start out at the furthest point of King's Lynn and head back in the London direction with stops along the way, or, meet up at Cambridge and make our way down the railway line, ending up at King's Lynn, which would give an uninterrupted journey back to London for those who need it.

I imagine things would go as follows:

Stop at Cambridge for Rejuvinate (vintage clothing and haberdashery), John Lewis haberdashery, Callie & Co (quirky fabrics and sewing equipment).

Stop at Downham Market for The Sew Inn (lots of fabric and patterns, buttons, lace etc), possibly also the craft shop here for knitting wools and card making supplies.

Stop at King's Lynn for The Fent Shop (lots of fabric bargains, patterns and knitting wools).

A stop for lunch would be in the pretty and historic market town of Downham Market as half way point, whichever direction we started out from.  So, we just need to confirm a day.  I don't know how to do the Google thingy - do you Rachel?  Look forward to some answers soon ....

OK, I was wondering about that as I think you'd be coming the furthest - it does seem a long way ... hope you can come but understand if it's not possible ... .

I'm in!

I'll be at King's Lynn station for whichever train everyone says they can make. This is brill - I am very excited xxx

Shall we all meet at King's Lynn station on 26 May then (it's tiny - no chance of missing anyone) for about 9 - 9.30 and do The Fent Shop before we then get the train on to the first stop at Downham Market?  Are we going to make anything or have a special colour to wear or something?

OK for the meet, that sounds fab.

if we know what the theme for the following week will be we could try to do that? I know it's not up yet though. Or a colour would be good if not! I'll go with whatever you decide

Cx

That sounds a great idea. I will need a bit of time to make something though as I am a bit of a novice.

I am really looking forward to meeting you all and like the idea of wearing something we've made.  Likewise I need time to make something due to work and volunteer commitments.

I'm keen in another British invasion as the jubilee is 04 June

Sounds good - maybe it could be an annual event!!

Where is downtown market. Maybe I can make it direct to the second stop...

To be at king lynne at 9 I need to leave at 5.55 ( not happening lol )

What time finish the meet up?

Downham Market is not far from King's Lynn.  The (sort of) plan is to do King's Lynn and Downham Market in the morning and then be at Cambridge for just after lunch.

Downham Market is on the route from King's Cross to King's Lynn.  We could either meet you in Downham for lunch or at Cambridge for the afternoon.  What do you think?

Not sure what time things would end up ... suppose it would be a bit like the London meet last year when people went off according to train times etc ... as long as anyone likes really!

On the subject of clothes this might sound mental but what do you think of another red white and blue theme for the meet - it's the jubilee celebrations about a week later and we did the first meet in red white and blue a year ago....

For those who don't know, we wore either red or white or blue or a mix of any of them (eg red and white) and put the other colour in with accessories (eg blue necklace).

Or is this a silly idea? Other suggestions welcome! Like the rest of you I would like to decide so we can organise ourselves. The next themes may not be up for a while....
