The Sew Weekly Sewing Circle

This is the dress that nearly drove me insane. It was my first try at resizing a pattern (add 2" to waist and hips, remove 1" bust). It was also the first time I'd ever lined something properly. Pattern used: 1960s Simplicity 2135

Hi Kat, I'm ecstatic that the dress fits!! I felt that maybe the bodice could have been a bit more fitted but then realised that's not the style of the dress and if I did so, I wouldn't have been able to move my arms. For my first foray into pattern grading - I'm really happy.

 

Jen - the fabric is cotton poplin (mostly cotton with a bit of polyester). This is probably one of the first times I've ever used something other than 100% cotton!
