The Sew Weekly Sewing Circle

It's probably no secret that in two weeks, we'll be sewing with red and pinks for a certain romantic holiday. While I like to keep upcoming themes under wraps, I figured it would make sense to make this week's giveaway a tie-in to St. Valentine's day in order to give the winner some extra time to sew.

Up for grabs is three yards of this semi-sheer pink, red and white rose fabric with a 45" selvedge. I don't think the photos do it justice, but here you go.

How to win the fabric

This giveaway is open to Sewing Circle members. In this thread, post a picture of the pattern(s) you would use this fabric with and you'll be entered! The winner will be randomly chosen from that thread. Please, only post one reply (though you can post multiple patterns in that reply). Keep in mind that you have 3 yards at 45" to work with!

The deadline to enter is Friday, February 4th - 11:59pm Pacific time. At that point, the thread will be closed and the winner will be announced on Monday.

Good luck!

Gorgeous fabric!  :-)

I'd be keen to make it into the shorter dress in this 1979 Style pattern (Style 2498).  There'd be just enough fabric for the dress and belt, with about 1/6th yard left over.

Oooh, pretty fabric! That calls for a pretty dress. Going the easy route I'd choose the Burda 02/2011/104. Or should I dare with Vogue's V2903 or V2960? Decisions, decisions ...

Surely, this beautiful fabric is worth a dress like this in pink (between the yellow suit and blue dress). There is no pattern available because it is from a catalog of 1938 (I think), but it's just soooo beautiful and romantic. Perfect for Valentine's Day!

That blue dress is just TOO CUTE! I love those details at the bustline. I think I may pinch that idea for a future project.

Do you think they're buttons or pom-pom braid?

I think it is a braid pon-pon, but I can not ensure ... let your imagination run ...
Butterick B5682.  I have been looking for an excuse to try this pattern.
This view from Vogue 2961 would be perfect for spring!

I have to agree with Farah - I've been waiting for the perfect fabric to try this pattern.  It's been in my pattern stash for a year waiting for the perfect fabric!

oops - don't know what happened to my picture.

Love, love, LOVE your blog! I just picked up both these patterns and think either would be great with that fabric.
