My mum and Dad went to Charles Dickens festival in Rochester last year, they said it was good fun and an opportunity to dress up !! As for sewing, all my life although I've only just taken up dressmaking. I'm starting a sewing group, as so many of my friends are so busy we have agreed on once a month people can just come and go even if you have nothing to do, you can sit and eat lots of cake and tea !! and probably wine and gin !!

I'm not sure what that little red scalloped edging is for...seems like some sort of a horsehair-type hem stabilizer, who knows. Have fun with it and the rest--go where your creativity takes you!
