Cant wait to see your dress.. I have that pattern too. And have been nervous to attempt it.I just got
some fabric for it. So, hopefully will start soon. Of course, depending on what next weeks challenge is and how time consuming it is?? If its somethng I cant do, I will just take the week to work on the crepe dress.ha.
I am fixing to go and rip the sleeves out of my dress [as bad as I dont won't to], and try to fix it, so I can get it posted this week..so..off I go too..NO more excuses.Judy
Thanks Charlotte! Yeah, it's been a pretty bad day for us all over here. Nearly everyone has friends or family in Christchurch, so we're all feeling a bit helpless. :-( Thankfully all my friends and family down there are safe.
It is really wondeful to have such a warm welcome from all you seasoned sewers! I must admit it is all a bit daunting being a beginner, but I love it! Hopefully I won't drive you too insane by asking to many inane questions as I go along!
Wow that was quick! I heard about the meet up – it’s the reason I signed up! I’ve been following the blog but never bothered joining up as I wasn’t really taking part in the challenges. Is there a way of finding UK members? Or did you happen on me by (happy) accident?
I live in Risca, so not that far from Penarth! Small world eh?
I too will be getting out the tracing paper and trying to up scale the pattern. Thankfully my very thoughtful boyfriend bought me 20m of tracing paper on a roll so should have enough!!
Only just realised you could comment on the photos before I'd done the descriptions! Yeah it's an Amy Butler pattern, I've got a slight addiction as am drawn to bright colours and bold prints...it's a weakness I'm trying to get over by buying less of her stuff and branching out to other fabrics. Do you have a favourite fabric designer?
Yes, I've just been reading through the thread. It sounds great but I don't know if I can make it and also not sure if I'd have time to make a dress for it but we'll see. I wouldn't rule it out just yet!
Yea... So happy to see your ufo/dns challenge on the highlight photos.. You are doing great!!! love the skirt.. [and really love the picture of Mia peeking out the window..tooo cute..

Hi Charlotte,
Thanks for the invite, the 14th is actually my birthday and I'm very tempted to join you lovely ladies, but I'll have to see if the bank allows it :)

Hi Charlotte! Looks like I'll be joining all you lovely ladies on the 14th May! Just been working out the trains.
Very excited now! Not sure I'll be able to master the 'Horrock's' dress by then though but will give it a shot.
