Hello Judy

Thanks for all your encouragement! I'm off to work on the dress now... I am excited to hear you are doing a vintage pattern, that will be fun... Hope it goes well, it's great that you are sewing for yourself at last! OK, no more excuses, off to the sewing maching for me x

Hello Judy

I was very moved by the messages you have left for me and I gave myself a stern talking to. Result: dress is finished! So thank you. And I am planning to wear it on my girl's night out on Saturday when I go out.

Hope your dress is going well, it sounds great, I am delighted to hear you are making a vintage pattern. Best wishes, Charlotte x

Hi Judy

Just seen your comment on the 'comment wall'.  I'm totally hooked on sewing now too!  Just seeing what everyone else has done and trying to keep up with it all - it's such good fun though!

Hi Judy.. I'm enjoying seeing your creations too. I don't have a blog I'm afraid. I'm very technologically challenged! wouldn't have the foggiest idea how to even start one! This is the first sewing I've done in years! (well apart from curtains!)

Will we see pictures of your dress? I totally agree with you on the patterns. Although I only just opened the little envelope, it looks fairly easy. Let alone that I could just go and buy the pattern in Paris!!! I'm starting it tomorrow...

I'm looking forward to doing Crepe as soon as the pattern arrives - with any luck, it should be next week!  Thanks for your encouragement.  Love your stash by the way - you've got some great colours in there.

Hi Judy!  Croft Mill is an online fabric supplier (it used to be postal - not sure if it still is) and it's been going in the UK for years.  It is based in Lancashire.  They specialise in selling very reasonably priced fabric that is sourced from all over - lots of it seems to be left overs from large chain store orders and Croft Mill then sell this on to the public.  I don't think that the brand you have in the US is the same, as they don't produce their own fabric.  I'm envious of your WalMart - we don't have anything like that in the UK anymore - used to have 'Woolworths' for years but they recently went bust!  Anyway, happy sewing!

this is brilliant, thankyou I will look it up as soon as I can. Although I have realized my problem isn't so bad because the patterns are smaller which means I'm fitting into size14 and 16, soooo depressing!

Congratulations Judy - I'm so pleased you were one of the winners.  Can't wait to see your Oolong dress.  Mine arrived yesterday, I'm hoping I can use it in the next few weeks.  Enjoy!!

The pics are in my blob post.  I just noticed that I have a place to put pictures on my page.  Oops.  New to the whole blog thing.  Green . . .  I'm not sure.  Was thinking about a jacket.  It's chilly here in Chicago for St. Patircks day.  Going to Hancock to see what they have!  How about you?

Thank you - I've been sewing since I was three which makes it...a really long time : ) I even did it for a living for many years and then it became too much. Now I'm getting back into it because I love it and I'm really good at it. One of these days I'll do one of the challenges and dedicate it to the grandmother who taught me to sew and would have a HOOT with blogs like this.
