When I looked through my stash I thought what can I possibly make for winter with my current haul? I simply haven't collected much winter fabric yet. One possible dress did come to mind, but when I realised how much I had to do this week I knew I wasn't going to have the time to do it justice. Then my eye caught my bear fabric.

So soft! So cuddly! Just like me! Just *bearly* enough for a stole! I've had this teddy bear fake fur fabric since my early teens when my auntie introduced me to making bears. I made one or two, but life moved on shortly after buying this and I never got back to it. In my stash I also had a vintage type pink satin... it really is divine. Both fabrics weren't small pieces but they did wrap around me... :)

Whew! I almost thought I wouldn't make it this week, life as kicked into high gear for a while! But I can be stubborn, and I wasn't going to let lack of time throw me off so early in the year. Unfortunately due to fabric limitations the finished stole is about 4" too short for me to wear freely, but if I keep my posture just so and arms angled like this then it looks great :P

I drafted my own pattern for this stole. I played with the curves until I was happy, and ended up with a pretty swish looking pattern. I'd love to make this again (only 4" longer) and when I do I'll be sure to share my pattern and tutorial! :D

Even though I made this with winter in mind, I could have used it earlier this week. It might be Summer in Australia, but it sure doesn't feel like it! *brrr*
