Hello Ladies!
As I shared on my earlier posts about my Butterick 4790 dresses, I found a very simple way to fix this retro pattern so that it looks just like the original pattern cover! Quite a few seamstresses have commented that they would like to try this method since the updated pattern doesn't fit like an authentic 50s dress, so I am going to host a sew along over on my blog!
In case any of you would like to join us, the Butterick patterns will be on the $1.99 sale from Aug. 11-13th (in the actual stores only.)
In the next few days I will show how to make a simple crinoline underskirt to the add the appropriate "pouff" to the skirt, and in a week or so we will begin cutting out and fitting our patterns.
I would love for you to come join me if you feel like sewing one of these classy walkaway dresses!
Happy sewing,
Katrina
