The Sew Weekly Sewing Circle

Better late than never (but isn't that the definition of a UFO? Something not finished on time?). I cut this and started sewing way back in February (February!), but it had a really unflattering high neck and a tie-on peplum belt that made me look short and dumpy. And there it hung in my sewing nook for 5 months.... finally revisited it this weekend. Still need to hem it, but I can't decide on the best length for me.

I think this is amazing. Really good fabric as well, very vintage looking. I think you look great

That length looks great to me, or, alternatively, around 12 inches or so off the bottom.

Thanks everybody!  It's actually a '70s sheet from Value Village (a Canadian thrift shop chain), and was meant to be a muslin, but everyone who has seen it said it looked good enough to wear.

My mother was visiting and she marked the hem at knee length, but now that I look at a photo of myself, I think I prefer this '40s length (with heels at least!)

This came out really nice, Vicki.  I like the high neck on you,   the fabric is lovely, of course.

This dress is beautiful. I find that hem very flattering  to you, it looks like endless legs.

Endless legs!?  Then it must be MAGIC fabric!  Where can I get some more?!  LOL
