I've called this one the sampler because it reminded me of the home ec projects I used to do in high school.. 'you can make anything you want but you have to include a minimum of 4 techniques on this list' .. so.. pintucks, lace trim, scallops & decorative buttons... yay I pass! This week I set myself the added challenge of no trips to the fabric store and to use the most plain jane of a pattern in my stash and see if I could make it pretty. This pattern is so so so basic. 2 pieces.. no darts, no shaping! It's like the pillowcase top without the pillowcase! lol. I used scrap chambray and white cotton, some of my never ending lace & glass buttons. (anyone know if glass buttons can survive the washing machine?)Also..have you noticed everyone's into scallops at the moment! This is my first attempt.. and they are not the breeze I thought they would be. I read a tip somewhere about using a smaller stitch length - next time for sure!

Casey, I adore this.  I love the buttons and lace - they've made the shirt into a fantastic piece.  The scallop trim is completely delightful!

Thanks everyone for your comments!  (I will cross my fingers and wash this in a lingerie bag in the washing machine!.. it's survival of the fittest at my house - Plants.. glass buttons... it's all the same. Must survive with minimal effort or your out! lol)
