The Sew Weekly Sewing Circle

This dress is made using Vogue 'Easy Options' 8766. The fabric is an 100% cotton knit with a allover "burnout" (see through) design of different sized stars, lined in a lightweight active wear navy colored knit. I love my neckline alteration of sewing on a smooth bias band to cover and finish off the entire neckline. The back and the sleeve details are our own ideas that were added to this dress, making it similar to 1930 style features, and lending a little vintage flair and interest. There is self-fabric cording I made to gather up the short sleeves, with a fancy red button at the top of the shoulder seam. If you look closely in this picture, you might see that I outlined a star on the upper chest in navy thread. I also made my own jeweled star earrings to match my fabric, as well as wore a 30's style lasso necklace to emphasize to the vintage open-collar back style.
