My first attempt at the sorbetto and I'm really pleased at how it came out. I orginally cut it out with the intention of just making a muslin with this fabric which was a super barginous 99p a meter (reckon this cost me all of £1.50 to make and that includes the ink and paper to print the pattern)! Having cut it out and started sewing it though I thought what the heck, I might as well make it into a proper one. I even bothered to make the bias tape by hand after initially buying some white bias strip which looked all wrong when I put it on. It wasn't as tricky as I thought it would be other than the ironing which was very fiddly and finger burning (note to self - definately worth investing in one of those bias tape maker thingies) It is a little on the sheer side, but as long as it's worn with a cami it's fine. The fabric has a tiny coral pink floral motif, so it also fits in with this weeks challenge which is also a bonus as I haven't done very well with keeping up with them so far.
