I overcame some major obstacles this week: spring break (no preschool = no childcare), a raging case of pink eye, and a "very easy" pattern that turned out to be very pain in the ass.

Fabric: 4 yards pink gingham (Lisette) from Joann, $26; white muslin from stash for bodice lining
Pattern: Vogue V8725, $13
Year: 2011
Notions: thread, invisible zip, $4
Time to complete: 8 hours?
First worn: for the quickie photo
Wear again? With a bra. After I try to fix the fit some more.
Total Cost: $43

I liked this dress too (the Sookie one)... my own Sookie inspired halter gave me gruff because you had to put it all together before trying it on... then refitting it... whew- what a pain!

But yours looks pretty :)

You look so fresh, and cute. Sorry it was a pita! Sometimes it's just that way but the end result is awesome!

So beautiful! I love everything about it. So worth the frustration!

Thank you! I do kind of look like a picnic blanket, don't I? In a good way, I think. Casey, I didn't line the skirt as the pattern called for because I didn't have the fabric or the patience, and your Lady Di photo haunted me! I'll just wear a slip, I decided. Notice how I'm not showing you the back of the dress? It hangs down a lot lower, even with the fairly large darts I added to the back bodice to bring it in. And even though I hemmed it higher. Oh well.
