Lovely colors, how is the fringe made?
Charlotte and Nora,
Thank you. The fringe is made by unraveling the threads parallel to the selvedge. You could this one of two ways depending on how tightly woven your fabric is. For any fabric you can just starting picking the threads one by one and pulling them out (like you would for traditional hemstitching). For a loose weave or one that unravels easily, stitch a straight stitch where you would like the fringe to end and stick it in the wash a couple of times. You'll want to secure the vertical ends, obviously, but make sure that you leave the ends loose where the fringe is so that it can unravel. I did mine by hand because our laundry is shared and expensive.
You can read more about the construction here if you'd like.
I hope this helps!
