I went to a wedding reception this evening, wearing a dress I made out of a pair of curtains from the charity. Incidentally, it features a circle skirt as featured in this week's challenge.
It's hardly perfect but I love it, and I love the fact that it's made of curtains. I am more Scarlett O'Hara than Maria Von Trapp.

It's great - it looks really 'high end'! Are you in the middle of Manchester in that photo? The arched brickwork looks like you might be...
Thanks and well spotted! The reception was indeed on Deansgate Locks.
Thought so - my dad used to work at the Press Association on Deansgate before they revamped it all and I often used to meet him at work - I think that red brick is in my soul!
That is brilliant! I have lived in Manchester for seven years and it is the first time anyone associates the area with anything other than nightlife! And Dads are the best :)
I grew up in Manchester and left when I was 21 - before they developed the city. Although I loved it as it was, I am also extremely proud of what's happened to the city since, makes me proud to be an (ex) Mancunian!
I moved to Preston in 2002, and then Manchester in 2005. I thought I was leaving for good this time last year, and ended up coming back after 6 weeks. It wasn't my decision but it turned out to be for the best. I have worked very hard but Manchester has been so very good to me in return. I am proud to be an adopted Mancunian! I even speak with an accent described as "a Mancunian twang with an Italian lilt".
That's funny because I have just started to learn Italian - maybe I'll end up with 'an Italian twang with a Mancunian lilt!
That would be perfetto! :)
