The Sew Weekly Sewing Circle

This dress is made using Vogue 'Easy Options' 8766. It's a perfect summer look and SO FUN to wear, especially with the full circle skirt. The fabric is an 100% cotton knit with a allover "burnout" (see through) design of different sized stars, lined in a lightweight active wear navy colored knit. All seams, except the bottom hem and the armholes, are done in French seams. I love my neckline alteration of sewing on a smooth bias band to cover and finish off the entire neckline. Using a knit really made a zipper unnecessary, so I sewed up all the center back seams and kept this as a pullover style. The back and the sleeve details are our own ideas that were added to this dress, making it similar to 1930 style features, and lending a little vintage flair and interest.
