Considering how much I love my Burda magazines I thought I might have come up with something a little better, but oh well..
I found a pattern in 11/2008, no: 114 that is rather similar in shape to the blouse from the new book. I had to grade it up a couple of sizes and then proceeded to put it together without reading the instructions. Oh well...
I chose a navy fabric from my stash of which I have a heap of it (bargain bolt from the op shop - 30-odd metres for $4.99) and will have to make something to go with it. Maybe a straight skirt. I really have nothing that will work with it in my closet. (story of my life) hence the reason it was photographed on the floor. oh well..
It's pretty comfortable in a stereotypical peasant style, but it should be okay as an overblouse.

Everyone needs a bit of navy Jen! And it's the simple makes that get the most wear at my house.  I can't believe you have 30m of that fabric!

Do the Burda mag patterns only come in one size? (just wondering since you had to grade it up)

The patterns come usually in about 4 or 5 sizes. The one I wanted was a little smaller that what I need so on this occasion I graded.

The op shop I like to go to has bolts of fabric for $4.99. It's hit and miss what you'll get, but I've scored a few beauts. I should give away a few metres. I've more than I'll need.

30 meters !! Wow! Well, a blue top is a garment with a lot of wear, so I'm sure it will soon have many candidates separates to wear with it.

Bet you'll find that really useful!  Envy your 'Op Shop'.
