Here are my satin tap pants, made with Past Pattern #501. The tap pants (French knickers or tango pants are other names) are cut on the bias, with all seams lapped, bias bound, or french. From start to finish was only 3 1/2 hours, but a good part of that was spent on adding the lace, but it was so worth it! I did a very small buttonhole stitch all around the border of the lace along the hem of the culottes. I then cut off the excess satin to reveal the lace. This turned out looking quite professional with a clean finish. These tap pants were so easy to assemble, fit great, and look better than any RTW lingerie.
