Here are my satin tap pants, made with Past Pattern #501. I adjusted the pattern to transform them into more of the hip skimming 30's style, even though the pattern is for 20's ladies underclothes set. I added a back placket for less bulk and historical reasons. I sewed hem tape for stability into the top 5 inches of the back center seam, sewed that down, added snaps and a button and loop closure. The tap pants (French knickers or tango pants are other names) are cut on the bias, with all seams lapped, bias bound, or french. These tap pants were so easy to assemble, fit great, and look better than any RTW lingerie.
