The Sew Weekly Sewing Circle

Here is my finished Butterick 5794 dress, with my sleek and sporty Ford Probe behind me. I am glad I followed the advice of PatternReview, since there were no finished measurements printed anywhere, and made a 1/2 size smaller with 1in. seam allowances to make it fitted instead of roomy. I made some small but significant changes to the tie neckline as well as the elastic sleeve casings-now it's closer to the pattern drawing. This dress was a cinch to sew, is flattering, and very comfortable. I hope my red car brings out the red in the dress, but, nevertheless, I enjoy feeling like Speed Racer in my fast, peppy Probe when I'm not sewing up a storm! Hi Kelly, I can sense a theme happening here, Red car, Red print, Red mini apron!! I love the print in this fabric and you have done a great job on the fit! It can be worthwhile to visit Pattern Review.
