I've used a school photo as my inspiration. In the 60's, everyone seemed to be wearing floral shifts, either with or without sleeves. I've used some fabric that has a 'Mary Quant' type motif (I was going to use it for my V&A meet dress but I've since found something more suited to the 50's) to make my own modern day version and I'm also pleased to have been able to use something from the lovely 'travelling lace' envelope sent to me by Amanda D - no doubt she'll recognise the ric rac! I'm sure I'll find this dress useful for messing around in this coming summer - think it'll look good with a denim jacket I have. Note the white sandals! I realise that my mum always used to dress me in these in the summer ....
