I'm still around, not yet dropped off the sewing radar, but I have been busy with my knitting. That episode is over now and being assessed by my knitting teacher (she seems happy with it so it was worth taking a break for!). But I'm a bit behind with the sewing now. This is how I've interpreted 'do over'. It's one of the first things I did for Sew Weekly - from an 80's pattern. I've never liked it because it looked a bit too 'homemade' for me and was a bit big and blowsy looking (80's patterns were always on the large and boxy side). So, I've done a bit of twin stitching down the seams to make them look a bit more finished off, slimmed it down a bit and added some red heart shaped buttons to the front opening, as well as to some cuffs I've made. The original sleeves were just rolled up, but I've made some proper ones.
I've cut out the next challenge 'home' and I've still got my Burda Christmas dress ongoing and I know what I'm doing for 'purple' ... down with the knitting needles and out with the sewing machine!

Those buttons make a nice contrast, they goe nicely with the belt. Good cuffs!
It looks lovely! I really like the fabric, and the red belt and the buttons go so well with it!
Love the buttons.. and the fabric is pretty.. Great job.
it is pleasing to fine-tune an outfit you weren't entirely happy with and get the result that you were after.
What a great dress, love the pop of red (buttons and belt)!
