Gauze Striped 40's Blouse - Simplicity #1692

This is a close-up of the shoulder button placket of my Simplicity 1692, View D, 1940's blouse. I used vintage buttons from my inherited stash, and, as I only had 4 in the pink that I liked, I made two loops, instead of three, on each shoulder. Hopefully you can see the details of the nubby striped design in my crinkled gauze cotton blend fabric, with a mix of pinks, tan, brown, and white as the color scheme. I simplified this blouse and eliminated any see-through issues by double layering both front and back, cutting down on sewing time by eliminating those twisty facings. Careful if you make Simplicity 1692 - it does have a generous blousy fit from the waist up, with a snug fit where the darts get sewn in...go up a size in the hips!
