My blouse is View D of Simplicity 1692, a 40's retro pattern that came out earlier this year. I made it from a lightweight cotton blend crinkled gauze fabric from my stash for a long time. I had just enough yardage to double layer this blouse (cutting two fronts with two back section), eliminating any see through issues AND also the twisty, time consuming facings. There were problems with the fitting of this blouse, due in part to the fact I made French seams. However, Simplicity 1692 does have a generous blousy fit from the waist up, with a snug fit where the darts get sewn in...go up a size in the hips! I do enjoy my finished blouse, after all, and my version is easy to match and accessorize.
