I spend most of my time in either Cambridge or Norfolk, but at the weekends, it's Norfolk and as this is the only opportunity when I can take photos, this week I've done a Norfolk Fenland inspired skirt. There's a pleat and a tie belt in there, which I hope to photo soon (my camera batteries ran out on the 'photoshoot'!) but at least you can see the fabric against the local architecture, the brown is known as 'carrstone' and is found all over this area. I'm standing outside the local church on the only hill for miles, surrounded by the town and fenland stretching out into the distance. Just to finish up, I bought the fabric in the local store - I think it's beautiful, all embroidery and appliqued bits of corduroy and taffeta etc with bits of gold thread shot through. I think it looks like farmers fields or allotments! It was only £6.50 per metre, of which I used 2.
