My Modern Leather and Chiffon Tunic Dress

I was inspired by a fellow Sew Weekly member, Kazz Pell of Australia, for the idea of my leather and chiffon dress. I adapted a year 2008 pattern, Simplicity 2891, and made it without the pattern's sleeves or bust ties and lengthened by about 12 inches into a dress length. Kazz gave me the wonderful idea to double up the printed chiffon to create an off-inked appearance like when the layers of printed colors are miss-matched. The neckline and sleeve trim is a faux leather material, while the doubled-up chiffon is lined in a white rayon challis. I used the basic cap sleeve pattern piece from a McCall's 6433 and a tutorial from the blog "My Sparkle" to draft my own petal sleeves fro my dress.
