Here is my version of Vintage Vogue 8728. It is a great post-war, classic 40's day dress look. This pattern seems popular but problematic for some seamstresses. However I have narrowed down 3 basic, easy adjustments which (in my opinion) are necessary to making V8728 dress turn out perfect. My '46 dress is made out of a soft, shiny, and stable satin knit which gives me the very best of both worlds: the comfort of a stretch fabric with the dressiness of a fancy vintage print. Gathering is one of my more favorite parts to sewing, so I really enjoyed making this dress, and love wearing it out!
