The Sew Weekly Sewing Circle

This is my new cozy winter "sweater" style dress, made using a 2010 pattern, Butterick 5523. I had picked out fabric, buttons, and everything for this project 3 years back and finally got around to making it. I am quite happy with the finished results, but the dress pattern had a few faults which needed adjusting to fit on me. I adjusted the sleeves, as the envelope back mentions 'long sleeves', when the pattern piece is actually shorter 'bracelet length sleeves'. The fabric is a 100% cotton double knit, lined in a lightweight polyester active knit leftover from a past project. The buttons that went on the decorative back tab are 100% recycled plastic, thereby making my dress all the more "green", in more ways than one!
