Some of us have started saying we'd like a UK meet up.... sooooo, who is interested? And where do you live? And are you willing to travel???????
I have just looked at the rail map of the uk, we could meet centrally somewhere, sometime this summer? We seem to have people from Edinburgh to Devon....
I'll start, I live in Lincolnshire, I can travel within reason (!), but I need some time to organise babysitting ;0) I would LOVE to meet some of the people I have met online and chat about sewing...
I have been thinking about the theme some more. How about we ask Mena for a red, white and blue London theme for the week after our meet. Then people can, as Rachel suggests, use one of the colours (or two! or all 3!) and just accessorise the other colours to make red white and blue......
and here is the cunning part....
how about those who want to make Debi's suggested gorgeous Horrockses' dress pattern in the theme colours?????
So.... what do you think?
thanks debi, I am very excited indeed now.... my auntie (in her late eighties) has promised me a pair of vintage blue elbow gloves if we go ahead with the theme ;0)
I cant wait to see the dresses..all in red.white and blue... how exciting...and you know what else???
When all you ladies arrive in the Horrockses dresses in red, white and blue...you will all know each other and I just know you will all get loads of attention... Cant wait to see pictures..I will be having a heart attack until you return and tell me all the good news..[you know I'm jealous, dont you?hahaha]
Have fun... let me know how hard it is to put that pattern together from all those run off sheets..oooh sounds like work..ha
I was unsure about the dress and thought I'd look to see if I could find any reviews of the pattern and pictures of other people's creations. I thought you ladies might like to see what I found!
(This one was self-drafted)

Given the issues with the bust most people have mentioned, and the fact that it is a problem area for me, I might either find a similar pattern or redraft (! eek) the bodice to get rid of the band altogether , but I am up for giving it a go!
