Thanks, K. I live in a really good area for fabric shops (just 10 minutes from Chicago) but the McCalls website had a better deal then the local places :)

I finally found the fabric hidden away in my attic, but it's only 3/4 yard :( I'm still hoping I can do something with it. Here's a photo of the wool and the leftover rayon I thought would make a cute lining. That pink spot in the middle is my phone's fault, not a flaw. I'll have to let you know what I figure…

Thank you for all the suggestions! The capelet pattern looks adorable, but I agree with Kelly that I probably won't get much use out of it. I think when I picked the fabric up I intended to make a skirt, but now I feel like a little cropped jacket would get more use. I do have that Simplicity 3673 but haven't made anything with it yet, I may have to reconsider my jacket idea!

A capelet sounds like a great easy and fun way to use your wool piece, but I would consider what kind of clothing (garment) will get the most use by you. If you really won't wear a capelet much or it won't match any clothes, then you might consider something else. A vest is a good idea, also. For a skirt, I suggest you look into Simplicity 2154, a 1960's retro reprint with a darling pencil skirt pattern which calls for about 1 1/2 yds. of 45" fabric. Bingo! Or maybe you could make…

Or maybe you could make Simplicity 3673, a '50 empire waist jumper, making the bottom part in your wool and having the bodice part a matching/contrast.
