Hello, My name is Heidi and I'm a Canadian mommy who loves to sew for her children, Anja (1 1/2) and Tobias (4).  I've been sewing most of my life, having learned at a young age from my mom.  I love learning new techniques, but always seem drawn to vintage & classic looking garments.  Prior to being a stay-at-home mom, I was a music teacher at a Christian school, and loved my career, but right now I'm loving the time I'm spending with my children.

I'm always working on a project of some sort, and my husband suggested I blog about them, so not to long ago, that's exactly what I did  ( .  Then I discovered contests, link parties, and communities like this one!

My personal goal is to no longer buy any clothes for my children that I am capable of making (unless I can buy them for less $ than I can make them).  So right now I'm knee-deep in shorts & sundresses for summer, but that's how I roll!  :)

Hey folks! I guess I will meet and greet you? I joined this site in January and then promptly moved house/nation, started a new job, abandoned the internet temporarily, and am only just making it back now! My name's Leni, I live in Boston, I used to live in Canada, I sew things in my bedroom, and I am excited to follow along with the weekly themes/you guys!

Hi! My name is Yen, and my mom is seamstress, so I've been sewing since I could hold a needle. I hadn't used my sewing machine for anything other than mending for several months when a friend expressed an interest in learning how to sew recently. Since then, I've dusted off my machine and have been sewing every night after I put my two sons to bed. I've been working on a pretty elaborate costume for an event at the end of August, so I haven't had time for any other projects, but I'd love to join one of the challenges here soon. I'm also very new to the world of blogging, but I just started a blog to record the progress on my projects. I'm also loving discovering all the great blogs by all the talented people here, and I'm excited about joining this sewing community!

Hi, my name is Betsy and I have been sewing since I was 10 or 11. I am now 56. I used to make everything but slowed down to work and raise kids. I have a daughter and nieces who are now interested in sewing  I have been thinking about teaching.

Both my grandmothers sewed clothes and crafts. Hand and machine so I just sewed Barbie clothes while I was with them or little stuffies. They kept me busy. We had to take HomeEc. My first project was the one yard apron, it's a great leaning too.  By the end of the year I made a shirtwaist dress. . Of course nobody wants that, they want to know how to fit their short back or big bust or ...

So, does anyone have any teaching ideas for adult learners?

I live in St. Petersburg, FL. I like all kind of fiber arts

Hello Ladies!  I've been following the Sew Weekly for a couple of months now but I haven't actually interacted with anyone yet besides posting one comment!  I'm Kaelyn, and I'm learning to sew.  My mom taught me to sew when I was a child and then I slowly let it go over the years.  She gave me a sewing machine for Christmas 3 years ago after I expressed interest in learning how to sew once again.  I have been slowly taking on projects to become better at sewing.  (An apron, makeup bag, pillows, clothing items) My goal is to one day be able to sew all of my own clothes to truly express my own style.  I admire all the women in this community and hope to be able to add something in the future!

Hi - I'm Jennifer.  I'm originally from New York and now live in Orlando, Florida.  I'm very new to sewing and it's definitely become a passion/obsession for me.  I love fabric and pattern shopping.  I've tried some of my patterns and well, the key word is "tried". But one thing sewing has taught (besides this fun skill) is patience.  I was never a patient person and here I am, patiently measuring and cutting and preparing fabric.  I've made a few skirts and tried a couple of dresses but have yet to make one that I feel comfortable wearing outside. I'm hoping to learn, experiment and succeed in this new venture of mine.  I've also started a blog - where I posted some of the things I've done.

I'm constantly trying to find the balance between working full-time, being the cook, etc at home, making it to the gym, and sewing.

Nice to meet you all :)

My name is Andrea Pannell. I currently live in Southern California but in the past 10 years we've lived in Seattle, Boston, NYC and Hoboken. I have four children who are still young and most of my sewing is for them though I do have a closet full of things I've made for myself as well! I love to sew and am self taught so I love learning from others! I run a blog called The Train To Crazy that I started in  January 2007 as a family blog but has been a sewing blog for the last 4 or 5 years.

I have very recently opened my pattern store Go To Patterns where I sell my own e-pattern (soon to be plural) as well as patterns for other designers. Most of the patterns we sell are geared toward beginners.

Glad to meet you all!

Hi  Andrea, so nice to meet you.. I love sew weekly and hope you enjoy it as much as I do.. Happy sewing.

Hello! My name is Elizabeth but I like they call me Lizzy, I am mexican and living in Mexico.

I have been taking sewing classes during a few years but skills are not as good as I wish. I have a blog Enamorada de la moda vintage( In love with vintage fashion), I started this blog mainly because I wanted to comment not as annonimous and to show my attemps to sew vintage style clothes, but honesty, I haven't post anything lately, I seriously thinking in changing its name to "Sewing once in a while".

I have been reading this blog for a while and I realy love it! I have tryed to sew something according to the week theme but I never finish it, but I will do soon.

Also, I love to discover new blogs here of all the contributors.

Nice to meet you all!
